With the introduction of Google’s Recipe View, microformats suddenly became incredibly important to food bloggers. If you don’t use microformats for your recipes, then your blog most likely won’t show up in Recipe View searches. But what are microformats, and how do we use them for our recipes? This session discusses what microformats are, explains the code that’s needed to integrate them into your recipes, and introduces several plugins and other resources that can make adding microformats to your recipes far easier.

Key Points

  • What are microformats, and why should food bloggers care about them?
  • Knowledge of what the recipe microformat looks like, and how to apply it to the recipes on your blog.
  • A list of resources that help make adding microformats to your recipes easier.
